And without further ado, here are the outfits.

Outfit 1: Manly pink

Paired a light pink shirt with dark rinse jeans and a casual grey coat. The pocket square adds a lil’ somethin’ somethin’ while tying in the brown belt and brown dress shoes. You don’t need to try so hard to look so good.

Outfit 2: Simplicity sells

Dark brown pants, light grey mandarin collar shirt with a grey belt and grey shoes (with striped socks :-)) to tie it all together. Sometimes when you’re in doubt. Go simple. It’s better the good outweigh the not so good.

Outfit 3: Grey is fancy

Paired a cyan blue shirt with grey dress pants and a grey cardigan. The brown shoes and belt, added a touch of something to the look. Bringing in the “dressed up” factor.ย 11

Just goes to show you. Looking good is all about the little details that make a big impact.

Outfit 4: Dark edgings

White pants, light blue mandarin collar shirt, black blazer and cool black shoes, bring this outfit home. Keeping the base light with dark toppings makes for an interesting combination. Just because you’re casual doesn’t mean you need to lack polish.

A big thank you to Irungu and Steve. They made this and the last post possible. I thank God for them. Incredible men.

Hope this will inspire you in one way or another.

You are gorgeous. You are imaginative. You are smart.

Hello world!

styleimage14

No, I’m not one of those style/stylist/designer prodigies. When I was younger, I was a skinny kid who could hardly ever find something that fit, so I kind of threw in the towel. But when I turned 19 and a half, I picked it up and decided that I would wipe off all the tear stains from the pity party, and learn how to dress myself (or towel myself off trying).

And there my style journey began.

There were plenty of ups and downs. A particularly harrowing down was when I gained weight and had to start from scratch. I have to admit, I threw in the towel again for a bit, confused and embittered.

However, I got back on the horse and the journey continued (or restarted, if you prefer) and I was back in the saddle again.

You may have noticed my use of idioms – Yes? Yes! I love them. They are like accessories in English. But I digress. Where was I?

Oh yes, my style journey.

On my second leg, I began to research on style. How to dress my body type? What is my body type? How to define my style? What is my style? And in the process I came across so much information. As I put it into action, through family and friends (with their kind permission of course), I realized that I loved fashion, more specifically style. I loved clothes and using them as a way to look good. I loved it when I saw a guy/lady with a definitive style – practically giving life to the art that was his/her clothes. And I loved to share what I was learning.

So this is MY JOURNEY continued. ย “Aluta Continua, Victoria Acerta” – The struggle continues, victory is certain.

I hope to use this platform to inspire others in their style.

To share is to care.

You are special. You are important. You are loved. ๐Ÿ™‚
